Plumber in Lake Worth, TX
NW Tarrant County. 14-Min Dispatch.

The 1950s lake cottages in Lake Worth Shores have galvanized supply lines that have been corroding from the inside for 70 years — and the seasonal lake-level fluctuations don't help the irrigation tie-ins on those old lots. S.W.A.T. Plumbing is 14 minutes out of Fort Worth.

Lake Worth Shores, Casa View, and the streets closest to the reservoir carry 1950s and 1960s lake cottages, many of them originally built as seasonal properties and later converted to year-round residence. Those homes largely sit on pier-and-beam foundations with galvanized steel supply lines that are now 60 to 70 years old. Galvanized corrodes from the inside, and by the time a homeowner notices low pressure or discolored water, the interior diameter may have narrowed to a fraction of its original size. The pipe isn't failing at a fitting yet — it's already spent. S.W.A.T. Plumbing dispatches from its Fort Worth hub and reaches most Lake Worth addresses in approximately 14 minutes.

Shady Shores and Crestwood carry a different profile: mid-century slab construction from the 1960s and 1970s, sitting on the clay-rich soil that runs through northwest Tarrant County. Seasonal shrink-swell in that clay creates gradual slab movement that stresses the copper supply lines and cast-iron drain stacks embedded in or beneath the concrete. Under-slab drain line bellies — low spots where drainage pools and solids accumulate — are a common finding on camera inspection in this era of construction. Root intrusion from the mature oak and elm trees on established lakefront lots compounds the problem in both clay sewer laterals and the older cast-iron stacks.

The Trinity River watershed feeds Lake Worth's municipal supply, and that water carries enough hardness — calcium and magnesium from the watershed geology — to cause measurable scale accumulation in tank-style water heaters, angle-stop valves, and aerators over time. Seasonal vacation property owners face an additional risk: properties with extended vacancy periods during winter months are disproportionately represented in freeze-burst claims. An unoccupied 1950s cottage on a pier-and-beam with no interior main shutoff can lose a significant amount of water through a freeze burst before anyone notices. Lake Worth is an independent municipality — permits file with City of Lake Worth, not Fort Worth Development Services.

Known Threats

Common plumbing issues
in Lake Worth.

Local soil, water chemistry, and housing stock create predictable failure patterns. Understanding whats common here lets S.W.A.T. Plumbing arrive with the right equipment already loaded.

Common Issues — Lake Worth

  • Galvanized steel supply lines in 1950s–60s lake cottages — interior corrosion reduces flow and produces rust-colored water before any external fitting failure appears.
  • Hard water from Trinity River watershed supply — calcium and magnesium scale accumulates in water heaters, aerators, and angle-stop valves over time.
  • Pier-and-beam foundations on older lakefront lots increase freeze exposure — supply runs without adequate insulation vulnerable to burst during hard-freeze events.
  • Root intrusion from mature oak and elm trees in clay sewer laterals — progressive blockages common in mid-century residential blocks near the lake.
  • Seasonal and recreational property vacancies — unoccupied homes with no interior shutoff are high-risk for undetected freeze-burst damage in winter.

  • My A/C was leaking because of a backup in the main drain pipe. The tech Tyler was beyond communicative, patient, and tenacious to fix this. He stayed until almost 6p troubleshooting and sticking with the plan of action that freed the issue. Great guy and great service. As a bonus, I requested the soonest available service and when there was a cancellation that pulled my appointment forward by one day. One earlier day with A/C in Mya in Texas. Win! I was provided them through my home warranty service. I will definitely request them again. Tyler was the man!

  • Over the weekend, I needed to call a plumber when the expansion tank on my water heater began leaking. I was unsure what might happen if the situation worsened, so I contacted my home warranty service to request assistance. I had previously informed them that if I ever needed plumbing services again, I preferred to work exclusively with S.W.A.T. Plumbing. On Monday morning, I received a call from Christi at S.W.A.T. Plumbing. She explained that although the plumber was finishing another job, she could have someone out later that afternoon. She told me that Scott H. would be handling the call and would contact me when he was on his way. About five minutes after our call ended, Christi called back to let me know that I would be Scott's next service stop. I really appreciated that level of communication. Less than forty five minutes later, Scott arrived at my home. Scott was professional from the moment he arrived. After a brief greeting, he immediately went to work. He confirmed my suspicion that the expansion tank was the problem, returned to his truck for tools and a replacement tank, and had the new tank installed within about twenty minutes. The repair was completed quickly, smoothly, and—most importantly—professionally. This was not my first experience with S.W.A.T. Plumbing, and it certainly will not be my last should the need arise again. This team truly knows how to take care of their customers. Thank you for inviting me to participate in this survey. I appreciate the opportunity to share my feedback. If you have any follow up questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me.
