Gas Line
Repair & Install

Gas isn't a DIY material. A bad joint, a corroded line, or an undersized run isn't an inconvenience — it's a hazard. S.W.A.T. Plumbing repairs, replaces, and installs natural gas lines under permit, pressure-tested to code, with documentation Atmos accepts.

When You Need This

The longer you wait,
the worse it gets.

Natural gas line work in Texas requires a licensed master plumber, a permit, and a pressure test that passes city inspection — every time. S.W.A.T. Plumbing handles the full chain: locate the failure, repair or replace under code, pull the permit, pressure-test, document, and coordinate the Atmos relight when the city signs off. No shortcuts. No homeowner-installed fittings buried behind a wall.

Warning Signs

  • Rotten-egg or sulfur smell anywhere near a gas appliance
  • Hissing sound from a gas line, meter, or appliance connection
  • Dead patch of vegetation above a buried gas line
  • Higher gas bill with no usage change
  • Pilot light won't stay lit, or appliance flames are weak or yellow
  • Visible corrosion or rust on exposed gas pipe
  • Dizziness, headache, or nausea near a gas appliance
  • New construction or remodel requiring gas line extension

Mission Operations

How we execute
from call to close.

  1. 01.

    Make Safe

    Smell Gas? Don't Wait.

If you smell gas now, leave the home, call Atmos Energy from outside (1-866-322-8667), and avoid switches, flames, or anything that could spark. Call S.W.A.T. Plumbing after Atmos has secured the meter. We dispatch immediately and coordinate the repair under permit.

  2. 02.

    Diagnose

Find the Leak. Verify the System.

Electronic combustible-gas detectors pinpoint the failure. We pressure-test the affected branch with the meter isolated and locate every leak in the system — not just the obvious one. Atmos sometimes shuts down a whole house for a single suspected leak; we confirm the actual scope.

  3. 03.

    Permit + Repair

    Pulled, Repaired, Tested.

We pull the gas permit, replace the failed line or fitting with code-grade material (black iron, CSST with proper bonding, or polyethylene for underground), and pressure-test to spec. All work is performed by a Texas-licensed master plumber.

  4. 04.

    Inspect + Relight

    City Sign-Off. Atmos Restore.

The city inspector verifies the work and signs the permit. We coordinate the Atmos relight visit and confirm every appliance is operating safely before we leave. You get a written record of the repair, the test result, and the inspection sign-off.

  • My A/C was leaking because of a backup in the main drain pipe. The tech Tyler was beyond communicative, patient, and tenacious to fix this. He stayed until almost 6p troubleshooting and sticking with the plan of action that freed the issue. Great guy and great service. As a bonus, I requested the soonest available service and when there was a cancellation that pulled my appointment forward by one day. One earlier day with A/C in Mya in Texas. Win! I was provided them through my home warranty service. I will definitely request them again. Tyler was the man!

  • Over the weekend, I needed to call a plumber when the expansion tank on my water heater began leaking. I was unsure what might happen if the situation worsened, so I contacted my home warranty service to request assistance. I had previously informed them that if I ever needed plumbing services again, I preferred to work exclusively with S.W.A.T. Plumbing. On Monday morning, I received a call from Christi at S.W.A.T. Plumbing. She explained that although the plumber was finishing another job, she could have someone out later that afternoon. She told me that Scott H. would be handling the call and would contact me when he was on his way. About five minutes after our call ended, Christi called back to let me know that I would be Scott's next service stop. I really appreciated that level of communication. Less than forty five minutes later, Scott arrived at my home. Scott was professional from the moment he arrived. After a brief greeting, he immediately went to work. He confirmed my suspicion that the expansion tank was the problem, returned to his truck for tools and a replacement tank, and had the new tank installed within about twenty minutes. The repair was completed quickly, smoothly, and—most importantly—professionally. This was not my first experience with S.W.A.T. Plumbing, and it certainly will not be my last should the need arise again. This team truly knows how to take care of their customers. Thank you for inviting me to participate in this survey. I appreciate the opportunity to share my feedback. If you have any follow up questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me.
