Running Water
Diagnosis & Repair

If you can hear water running with everything off, water is moving somewhere it shouldn't. S.W.A.T. Plumbing diagnoses the cause — toilet, hidden leak, slab failure, water heater — and gives you a repair plan before the next bill arrives.

When You Need This

The longer you wait,
the worse it gets.

Running water sounds aren't a problem in themselves — they're a signal. The sound is water moving through a pipe somewhere it shouldn't be: a toilet quietly cycling, a hidden supply leak, a slab leak under the foundation, or a failing water heater. S.W.A.T. Plumbing diagnoses the actual source using a methodical process — meter check, fixture isolation, electronic leak detection — and presents the repair before guessing turns into damage.

Warning Signs

  • Sound of running water in walls, floors, or ceilings with all fixtures off
  • Water meter spinning with no fixture in use
  • Water bill rising month over month without usage change
  • Toilet that 'phantom flushes' or cycles randomly
  • Warm or wet spot on the floor
  • Hot water heater cycling more often than usual
  • Damp baseboards, mildew smell, or peeling paint
  • Reduced pressure on one side of the house

Mission Operations

How we execute
from call to close.

  1. 01.

    Listen

Where Is the Sound Coming From?

We walk the house and listen at every wall, ceiling, and floor section. The sound's location narrows the source dramatically — a 'whoosh' in the slab points to a slab leak; a hiss near a wall stack points to a fixture supply; a refill cycle from a toilet area points to a flapper.

  2. 02.

    Isolate

    Meter Test + Fixture Shut-Offs.

We close every angle stop and confirm the water meter stops moving — that isolates the leak to the main supply line, slab, or up-to-fixture run. Then we open angle stops one at a time to identify which branch is feeding the leak. Diagnostic, not a guess.

  3. 03.

    Locate

    Electronic + Thermal Pinpoint.

Once the affected branch is identified, electronic acoustic detection and thermal imaging pinpoint the exact leak location. You see the location marked before any access is opened. No exploratory drywall removal.

  4. 04.

    Quote + Repair

    Written Estimate. Fixed.

You see a flat-rate written estimate covering the repair before any work begins. Most diagnoses convert to a same-visit repair: toilet flapper, supply line, fitting failure. Slab leaks and major repairs are scheduled with full options presented.

  • My A/C was leaking because of a backup in the main drain pipe. The tech Tyler was beyond communicative, patient, and tenacious to fix this. He stayed until almost 6p troubleshooting and sticking with the plan of action that freed the issue. Great guy and great service. As a bonus, I requested the soonest available service and when there was a cancellation that pulled my appointment forward by one day. One earlier day with A/C in Mya in Texas. Win! I was provided them through my home warranty service. I will definitely request them again. Tyler was the man!

  • Over the weekend, I needed to call a plumber when the expansion tank on my water heater began leaking. I was unsure what might happen if the situation worsened, so I contacted my home warranty service to request assistance. I had previously informed them that if I ever needed plumbing services again, I preferred to work exclusively with S.W.A.T. Plumbing. On Monday morning, I received a call from Christi at S.W.A.T. Plumbing. She explained that although the plumber was finishing another job, she could have someone out later that afternoon. She told me that Scott H. would be handling the call and would contact me when he was on his way. About five minutes after our call ended, Christi called back to let me know that I would be Scott's next service stop. I really appreciated that level of communication. Less than forty five minutes later, Scott arrived at my home. Scott was professional from the moment he arrived. After a brief greeting, he immediately went to work. He confirmed my suspicion that the expansion tank was the problem, returned to his truck for tools and a replacement tank, and had the new tank installed within about twenty minutes. The repair was completed quickly, smoothly, and—most importantly—professionally. This was not my first experience with S.W.A.T. Plumbing, and it certainly will not be my last should the need arise again. This team truly knows how to take care of their customers. Thank you for inviting me to participate in this survey. I appreciate the opportunity to share my feedback. If you have any follow up questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me.
